Private Trophy Trout Fishing
Harman's is privately stocking 1 & 3/4 miles of the North Fork River at the cabins. Harman's requires guests
to wear a visible identification permit, so we can clearly identify our guests at the stream. These are provided
at your cabin or are available at the office.
Stream access is restricted to guests/customers staying at the property. Access to the stream is managed as Catch
& Release with only barbless hooks. Access to section 1 and 2 is free to guests. In the future a fee may be
added for permits to section 1 or 2; or both.
A West Virginia trout fishing license is required. We recommend purchasing it online before arrival.
Fly Fishing Tournament is being planned for June 4, 5, 6, 2010. During this event portions or all of the stream
may be restricted to "tournament participants only".
Section 1 Area
The section starts at the entrance to Harman's and ends at the big "rock
cliff" above cabin #15. Both Spinning Tackle with artificial lures and Fly Rods are permitted.
Section 2 Area
This section starts above the "rock cliff at cabin #15" upstream
to upper riffle at the 3rd big hole. Both Spinning Tackle with artificial lures and Fly Rods are permitted. This
may change without notice to Fly Fishing only.
Access to section 2 is via the hiking paths to the 3rd big hole. Harman's is planning a bridge to access the upstream
section this spring, but we are unsure when it can be completed. The upstream property will be stocked with our
without the additional access bridge being completed.
- Size of Trout Stocked: We are stocking
many large trout at Harman's. Many trout are stocked at 2 to 6 lbs in the months of March-June, September, and
October.

- Guest Identification Permit: At Harman's
you must wear a Visible Identification Permit provided to guests free of charge in 2010. In the future a fee may
be necessary to obtain a permit.

Stocking Plan:
This plan is our best intention. If water conditions, are either high or low, do not support a trout stocking,
we will adjust our stocking schedule. Our stocking schedule can change without notice.
Load the Stream Events:
Every spring in March we load the stream with trout. After the winter months, in early March we stock a large number
of trout to reload the stream. This occurs in early March.
We will load the stream again Memorial Day weekend in preparation of our Fly Fishing Tournament. The tournament
will be held on June 4, 5, 6.
Every fall in September we load the stream with trout. After summer months, in early September we stock a large
number of trout to reload the stream. This occurs near Labor Day weekend or soon afterwards, depending on water
conditions and daily temperatures.
Fly Fishing Best Events and Summer Trout Fishing:
Our late May and early June stockings mean the 1st two weeks of June are great fly fishing events weeks. With the
introduction of a warm water rainbow stocking in June, we believe we can provide trout fishing into July and most
of the summer.
